The Paranormal is a realm that lies just beyond what most of us can understand or believe in.  It is what lies beyond what we can see, hear or feel. 

Can ghosts be harmful? we don't believe they are. They are normally harmless enough and don't really have any desire to bring about any harm. However, there are some known to play practical jokes, by moving things from one place to another, or to give a cool chill to let you know they are around. But on the whole they seem limited in the activities they are able to carry out in their own frame of existence.

Spirits/ghosts that seemed to be trapped on earth, are those who have not yet moved on to what comes after this life is finished.  They remain on earth until they either decide to continue with their journey, or are helped to pass on. 

 However, when we leave our Earthly body and return to spirit, we are still able to come back and visit. Ghosts/Spirits are not just in haunted places, they are almost everywhere in one form or another.

If you are lucky or unlucky depending on your point of view or your beliefs, you may get a glimpse of that realm.
