Canterbury

Canterbury is listed as a  UNESCO World Heritage Site, (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

It has two castles and six museums. The Cathedral, Abbey and St Martin’s church form the trio of World Heritage Sites in Canterbury.

St Martin’s Church is the oldest parish church in England still in  use today. It is a building with an important history and the starting point of the revival of Christianity in England in 597 AD by Saint Augustine. (click on the church plaque to read)

Weather - Warm and dry June evening in 2009

Investigators - Jackie, Bill, Paul, Donna, Cindy, Henry and  Steve.

We began our investigation here. It was a nice warm, dry evening as we walked around the churchyard but none of the group felt it would be a place with a lot of activity.

Jackie 'saw' a child with long fair hair who seemed to be playing hide and seek so we decided to use the Planchette to see if she would communicate with us. But it only seemed to want to draw pretty patterns. She then picked up on a man called John Pickering who was talking about trains, so we asked questions using the Planchette. At this point Cindy felt cold drafts go up her left arm and felt very uncomfortable as if someone was standing next to her. Jackie obtained a bit more information about John but it turned out to be a connection with a group member rather than the Church which was quite disappointing.

Donna and Steve got a couple of interesting photos of orbs but the most exciting photo was this photo (below) taken by Cindy. There seems to be a 'ghost/spirit'? standing by one of the gravestones. No one else managed to capture this even though we were all taking photos in the same spot.

We left the church and walked to the castle to take some more photos but again the group didn't feel there would be much paranormal activity so decided to leave and go home as it was getting late.

Conclusion - As usual we enjoyed our visit and walking around. Canterbury is another nice place to visit. We didn't manage to record any E.V.P.'s but did get the amazing photo by the grave, so we felt it was worth our time visiting.
