Bramber is a small village in West Sussex, lucky enough to have a castle and small church which was originally built as the castle chapel.
Bramber church is dedicated to St Nicholas and is located next to the castle entrance. It originally housed a small Benedictine college and was used for the castles inhabitants. It has since become the parish church of Bramber and is still in use today.
It is the only remaining part of the Bramber castle site which is not in ruins, but suffered badly in the seventeenth century. When Parliamentarian guns were set up in its transepts to get a better vantage point, in order to fire on Bramber Castle.
The Victorian restoration was not been done very well but part of the original nave still remains.
Weather - It was a nice, dry, warm evening when we arrived in Bramber.
Investigation - We walked around the churchyard and sat at different points to try and connect with the location and any spirit that is reported to haunt this location.
Conclusion - Unfortunately none of the group felt the grounds to be active and we were unable to find any proof of the reported paranormal activity that is reported to be connected with the church.
